Where We Need Your Help
Here are the areas that need your generous funding support:
General Operating Fund
This is often the best way to support the school because it allows leadership to allocate funds where they are needed most. Your gift to the general operating fund will ensure that programs remain strong, that the building is well-maintained, and that the school's essential infrastructures are protected.
Our Home
In 2003, the Russell Byers Charter School moved to a new site at 1911 Arch Street, where we can take full advantage of what the city has to offer. Our three-story building encompasses 40,000 square feet in which to create a quality educational facility. Our vision includes well-lit classrooms, a community library, a bright spacious art studio, conference rooms for private parent meetings, and more. The coming years will be full of continuous improvement as exciting initiatives are funded. The list below includes programs that require ongoing support, as well as initiatives that have not yet been funded. Professional Resource Center
We are pleased to announce that we have just finished the conversion of a staff work area into a Professional Resource Center. We felt that this was an essential component to add to our school, so that our teachers would have easy access to a vast array of resources in preparing for the classroom activities. Please consider a gift, in any amount, to enable us to purchase more materials that will be made available to the teachers, including reference books, sample lesson plans, and eventually thousands of books on a diverse range of topics. These books will be invaluable in enhancing our teachers’ abilities to offer challenging and thought-provoking themes and projects. Your generous gift will be acknowledged with a bookplate, with your name on it, placed on the inside cover of each book.
