Russell Byers Charter School Funding

The funds Russell Byers Charter School receives from the Philadelphia School District are not adequate to educate students at RBCS. Compared to the spending per student in many school districts in the region, our spending is much less [54K PDF]. Meanwhile, we offer comparable small class sizes, quality academic programs plus arts and enrichment activities.

Where the Money Goes
Children come to our school with a wide range of student abilities and needs. Many students who enroll in RBCS are already behind in academics, so we continually have to develop programs to help those students catch up. At the same time, Mentally Gifted students require special programs. For all abilities, we go out of our way to offer teaching methods that can get all students excited about learning. All of this takes money!

Filling the Fund Gap
Donations, big and small, make up the difference between what we receive and what we need to serve our students. To ensure the school achieves its mission, the Byerschool Foundation chaired by Laurada Byers, is raising additional funds. That's where you come in.

How Can You Help?
You can help us educate hundreds of public school children in Philadelphia. Choose from more than nine ways to give, and know that our students are grateful.
