RBCS Chess Team Takes 8th Place at Nationals
The Russell Byers Charter School chess team placed 8th in the 2009 U.S. Chess Federation SuperNationals Tournament (K-6 Division), held in Nashville. There were nearly 40 teams and more than 200 players in this division. The team's wonderful showing comes on the heels of its 1st place win at the PA State Scholastic Championship. Team member Ayannah Woods finished as the 55th best player in the nation in Nashville and finished among the top 10 females overall.
