ELS was featured on The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on Tuesday, November 3rd. Learning Matters, a television production company that partners with PBS, produced the eight-minute piece which explores the role of federal stimulus funds on the Rochester City School District. With Rochester as a case study, the producers attempted to answer the question: Now that the money has gone out, what has it done for school districts? In addition to highlighting the district’s expansion of Expeditionary Learning Schools to new schools, two other district programs that were saved by the stimulus funds are also highlighted in the piece. This is an informative and inspiring examination of the importance of the stimulus funds on education. View the video
