Mathematics

Our math program follows a workshop model, which incorporates teacher modeling with discovery learning and problem solving. Students have opportunities to work with others and to conference individually with teachers on their understanding of math concepts and skills.

Students in 4K and 5K also use a concept based program called Investigations. Teachers use the Harcourt Math program, which offers a structure for multidisciplinary teaching of content and skills, consistently from 4 year old kindergarten through sixth grades.

The mathematics curriculum is based on Pennsylvania State Standards, and teachers strive to align math instruction with classroom expeditions when it is possible.
