The Alumni Association helps RBCS students create a better life and embrace a successful vision for their futures. Our goal is to provide social, emotional, and financial support to former students in good standing who strive to achieve higher learning throughout their educational journey.

Through our work, we will engage parents and students in a network of continuous knowledge, one that enriches the lives of our alumni, engages them in supporting their community, and promotes their active interest and involvement in a system of lifelong education.

Message from the Alumni Association Chair

Dear Alumni Families,

Greetings!

It was 2001 when Russell Byers Charter School officially opened its doors to students from neighborhoods across Philadelphia. It provides a rigorous education that cultivates self-assurance, love of fresh ideas, and a joy of learning.

Fast forward eight years, more than ever, the Russell Byers Charter School is thriving with smiling and engaged children that are eager to learn in an environment rich with nurturing opportunities. The next few years will be monumental with the completion of the most significant expansion in Russell Byers eight year history. Plans for the lower level's renovations are underway to better our children's learning experience.

The lower level of the school was recently transformed into a state of the art Learning Center facility to include a Library/Story telling area, a Music/Dance studio, an Artist studio for our promising artists, a Multi-Media studio and much, much more!

It is with great pleasure that I have agreed to chair the Russell Byers Charter School Alumni Association. It is our goal to capture the "BIG IDEA" and begin the process of ensuring that past, present and future students of Russell Byers are equipped with the tools to develop skills to become successful in our ever changing world.

It is hard to contain my excitement about the possibilities this second year as an Association will unfold. We plan to equip our alumni with knowledge and to expose them to a broad range of experiences. Leadership and commitment to school community will be our focus. Access to the lower level Learning Center will aid alumni students with their current school assignments. We welcome your participation in our goals to acquire new ideas and programs to provide our alumni students with mentoring and support as they continue to strive for higher standards in education.

Together we can work to support the school and to create new horizons for students now and in the future; just as Russell Byers Charter School created an important beginning for our children.
